Coastal Carolina University student recipients of the $5,000 bonus Board of Trustees Award, given to graduates who earn their degrees a year early, plan to use the money to pay down student loans, enter graduate school and get a head start on their careers. This is the first class that signed up for the accelerated degree program established by CCU's board of trustees in 2014. The program is open to all first-time freshmen entering CCU. Twenty graduates received the award for completing the program.
Coastal Carolina University's held commencement ceremonies for an estimated 1,145 candidates for graduation May 5 and 6, 2017, at the HTC Student Recreation and Convocation Center on campus. In her remarks to Coastal Carolina University's Class of 2017, commencement speaker Amber J. Campbell encouraged graduates to be true to themselves and their own course in life instead of relying too much on conventional wisdom. "Don't listen to 'they,' because 'they' will tell you all kinds of things," said Campbell, an Olympic athlete and 2004 CCU graduate. " 'They' don't always have your best interests at heart. 'They' will try to talk you out of your dream. 'They' will tell you that what you're pursuing doesn't make sense or that the career you chose is too obscure. Meanwhile, you might end up a three-time Olympian and travel the world!"
In a ceremony on Saturday, December 19, 2015, over 200 Fort Lewis College graduates and their families packed Whalen Gymnasium for Winter Commencement. The speaker chosen to offer the Commencement Address was Adventure Education Assistant Professor Lee Frazer, winner of the Alice Admire Outstanding Teaching Award.
Over 400 students were named to Fort Lewis College's Dean's List for the Spring 2017 semester. These students took at least 15 credits of gradable hours and achieved a 3.60 or higher grade point average.
The following students are among approximately 500 Bob Jones University students named to the President's List for high academic achievement during the Spring 2017 semester. To qualify for the President's List, students must earn a 3.75 or higher grade point average for the semester.

Student participants were selected by their departments to represent the best undergraduate research and performances done at Fort Lewis College this year, either in oral or poster presentations.

Some 147 Coastal Carolina University students were inducted into the campus chapter of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society. The annual induction was held April 16, with Juliana Harding, assistant professor of marine science, delivering the keynote address.
McDaniel College inducted 23 seniors and five juniors into the Delta of Maryland Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. Founded in 1776, Phi Beta Kappa has chapters at 280 colleges and universities, and more than 600,000 members. Incoming members of the freshman class at Bob Jones University participated in summer orientation June 21-22. Students and their parents attended informational sessions about the BJU experience, asked questions regarding academics, financial aid and student life and became familiar with the campus. Students were also able to receive academic and career counsel from faculty and register for their fall classes.
Bob Jones University recently announced the latest recipients of the BJU Legacy Scholarship. The BJU Legacy Scholarship is awarded to students who have at least one parent who graduated from BJU. The award provides up to $1,000 per year, for a maximum of $4,000 over eight semesters.
